Healthcare Solutions

The Joint Commission Compliance Programs

National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards require building owners to have some egress doors and all fire and smoke doors inspected and tested annually.

The FireCheck® Program addresses a building owner’s legal obligation to properly maintain such doors. Certification of openings includes visual inspection, testing, and a comprehensive report that complies with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and The Joint Commission regulations.

Program Benefits

  • Compliant with Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and The Joint Commission
  • Annual inspection meets NFPA 80 (fire) and NFPA 105 (smoke) requirements, as well as NFPA 101 (life safety) requirements where required
  • Bar code labeling provides identification and inspection history

Infection Control Risk Assessment

Occupied health care facilities must take special care to control environmental hazards by adhering to Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) protocols during and after construction projects.

Our experts evaluate the scope of work to determine risk factors, including identifying potential hazards that may affect patients, labs, sterile environments, and medical equipment to minimize the risk of hospital-acquired infection. Assessment results and preventive measures are documented for ICRA approval prior to the issuance of the required Infection Control Construction Permit.

AAADM Certification Program for Automatic Doors

American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers (AAADM) certified inspectors provide annual inspections of sliding, swinging, revolving, and bi-folding automatic doors.

First, inspectors perform visual inspections and functional testing. Then they provide an inspection report that addresses all the openings, as well as how to bring any deficient areas into compliance. Overhead Door Company of Des Moines™ technicians can make any repairs necessary to ensure that all doors in a facility are certified.

Program Benefits

  • Receive priority scheduling and a discount off the standard service rates
  • Actively manage risk through accident prevention
  • Staff training for proactive daily safety checks and routine door maintenance

Planned Maintenance Program

Save substantial time and money with planned maintenance. In the long term, planned maintenance reduces the total cost of ownership (TCO) by mitigating costly breakdowns and loss of time.

Extend the operating life and efficiency of all doors, gates, operators and dock equipment with scheduled visual inspections, testing, adjustments, and lubrication.

Program Benefits

  • Receive priority scheduling and a discount off the standard service rates
  • Increase operational efficiency and reliability
  • Extend the safe and useful life of doors and equipment
